General Management & Project Development
Filipe Marques has over 20 years of experience in alternative fuels project development. With a chemical engineering background, he has worked in R&D, sustainable energy technology management, EPC/capital projects, and operations. He worked for companies such as SGC Energia, Technip, and the Portuguese National Technology Institute (LNEG).
Technology
John Hemmings has decades of experience leading teams of engineers and scientists to bring new technologies and Sustainable Energy solutions from the laboratory to commercialization. He worked in Synthetic Fuels, Alternative Energy, Engineering and Commodity Chemical companies (AECI, Foster Wheeler, SNC Lavalin, SGC Energia, Climax Global Energy). He holds several patents and is a winner of the Gold Medal of the SAICE for Process Innovation.
Business Analysis and Due Diligence
Todd Joyner has over 30 years of experience in oil & gas and sustainable energy. He led due diligences and evaluation of a wide variety of technologies for licensing and/or investment. He has worked for large E&C firms (Zachry, KBR, Bechtel) and for private equity (Quintana Minerals) in project development and technology evaluation/acquisition in multiple sectors such as solids gasification, renewables, hydrogen, ammonia, and syngas production.
Operations & HSE
Andrew Watt has over 30 years of experience with a focus on commissioning/start-up and operations across international chemicals, oil and gas operations. With a chemical engineering background, he led the start-up of the ‘first in the world’ Shell Bintulu gas to liquids facility and most recently was responsible for the overall CSU integration of the Chevron Gorgon LNG project.
Engineering
Govind Raman has over 30 years of experience in process and project development, pilot plant, FEED and detailed engineering, and start-up. With a chemical engineering background, he has managed multiple engineering projects in the field of sustainable energy. Prior to Devaltec, he worked for technology and EPC companies. He holds a Ph.D., from I.I.T., Bombay, India.
Engineering & Operations
Rui Bernardes has over 15 years of experience in industrial projects operations. With a chemical engineering background, he has experience in process and project engineering in waste recycling, biofuels, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. He worked for companies such as EGEO, CIPAN, SGC Energia, Biovegetal and Petrogal. He holds a MBA, from FEUC, Portugal.
Project Management & Business Analysis
Jorge Sampaio has over 20 years of experience in alternative fuels project development. With a chemical engineering background, he is a project engineer but also supports project control, financial modeling, and business development. Prior to Devaltec, he was a Senior Project Engineer and Business Development Analyst/Coordinator for the biofuels company SGCE Energia.
Finance & Administration Management
Veronique Valès has over 15 years of commercial and management experience. A former executive in the metal & electronics industry, she started as a metal trader and became General Commercial Manager of a Mitsui affiliate that recycled and upgraded waste copper. She also founded and managed a successful upcycled clothes business, anticipating what would become a global trend. She has been with Devaltec since its inception and is overseeing their investment portfolio.
Non-Executive Chairman
Vianney Valès has over 25 years of experience in the energy business, first as top executive in oil & gas in Shell and Galp Energia, and then as founder and CEO of multiple sustainable energy companies, creating value from waste through green industrial platforms. He saw first-hand the gap in analysis and project development competences in sustainable energy. He founded Devaltec to bridge this gap. He is currently the CEO of Wastefront, a waste tires to product global company and a strategic partner of Devaltec.
